As the technology develops day after day, lately the British government is announcing maybe one of the most high tech plans in help of electric cars.
These new electric roads would allow electric cars to charge as they drive. The reason why these charging roads are proposed by the U.K government is to help drivers with electric and hybrid cars as well, to avoid stops to recharge their cars. This technology is almost the same with the wireless phone chargers. The project is slated to begin later this year and the British government is committing $779 million to the project, over the next 5 years.
“Vehicle technologies are advancing at an ever increasing pace and we’re committed to supporting the growth of ultra-low emissions vehicles on England’s motorways,” said Mike Wilson (the government’s chief highways engineer).
