A car is probably the best place to be hit by lightning, though that wouldn’t make the whole experience any less terrifying. The video below shows a white SUV traveling through an intersection, take a direct strike of lightning.
What’s even more miraculous is that the weather doesn’t really appear to be that bad – rain isn’t even falling; lightning really can strike anywhere. The whole thing is caught on a dash cam, and the footage is incredible.
Although the metal structure of the SUV would have protected the occupants, there’s a good chance that the 20,000 amps of electricity flowing through the car would have done serious damage to electronics.
