Who says Ford’s the only American car maker that gets to play with flat plane crankshafts? Chevy tuner Lingenfelter, famous for their radical Corvette builds, has managed to build a Flat-Plane Crank LSX 358 motor that’s good for a staggering 621hp at 9000rpm naturally aspirated.

Rumour has it that it’ll be going into a fifth generation Camaro racecar and it’ll be equipped with a Garrett 76mm turbo then.

 

Given Lingenfelter’s reputation for building ludicrously powerful cars, we wouldn’t be surprised if it made over 1000hp in that application. Watch below as it’s headers glow bring red as it screams like a Honda motor to 9000rpm.
