We take a look at the performance and driving ability of the Koenigsegg Regera.
When we speak of hypercars, engines are the thing that gets discussed first, in the case of the Regera, which is the well known twin turbo five liter Koenigsegg unit working in unison with three electric motors to provide well over a thousand horsepower.
Secondly, we get to the gearbox, or rather lack of if in this case, this start to get interesting. Instead of just giving this car a typical dual clutch sequential box like anybody else would have, Koenigsegg came up with a Direct drive system, that not only reduces drivetrain power losses by a large margin, it also opens up a myriad of driving mode possibilities, even simulating being able to upshift and downshift.
This gearbox is without a doubt the cherry on top of the already delightful performance cake that is the Koenigsegg Regera.
