Last year, this fourth generation Chevy Camaro managed to set a Texas Mile Record, hitting a ludicrous 239mph. Fast is never fast enough of course, so this year they managed 244mph. However, as the car passed through 244mph, it got skiddish and required ninja-like reflexes to stay in one piece.
This isn’t the only mishap the team at Late Model Racecraft experienced this year. The day before, the same Camaro managed to catch on fire at around 244mph. The last Texas Mile car they built had both of its rear tires blow at 220mph. Luckily, the day ended without incident, and this one talented race-team will surely be going even faster next year.
