Hard as it is to keep track of every car at the SEMA show, it’s not quite hard to say that this 70 Charger ‘Tantrum’ is the real deal.
Winning the 2015 Gran Turismo Awards it’s equipped with a 9.0 liter, twin-turbo, V-8 Mercury Racing engine with at least 1650 HP. With some serious work done to update the casing rails and floorboards, the car weight is reduced by the massive carbon fiber components.
The interior is made with some modern materials but still has the classic 70 Charger design. It combines dark leather along with white stitching and naked carbon panels. The fenders, hood, valance, inner door panels and even the bumper are all made from carbon fiber.
Currently, the Tantrum is not for sale as the car’s designer, Sean Smith says: “This is something we started internally to demonstrate the capabilities, our talent, and our team.”
Want to see the 70 Charger in the flesh? Its next public appearance is scheduled to be from January 29-31, 2016 at the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona, California. Also take a big check with you, just in case the designer changes his mind.
