The Nissan GT-R is stupid fast; everyone knows that. With 500+hp and what is possibly the most advanced all-wheel-drive system in the world, there’s no doubt that the GT-R was a machine built to decimate lap times.
Although, with all its advanced electronic wizardry, torque vectoring, traction and stability control systems, and automatic dual-clutch transmission, many people have accused the GT-R of being too ‘easy’, or ‘cynical’. To test these claims, Auto Express decided to host every JDM fanboy’s dream test by comparing the legendary 1999 R34 Skyline GT-R with its 2015 counterpart. The question was not whether the R35 was faster; with double the horsepower and 16 years of progress, that’s a given. Rather, which one is more fun?
