The Scion FRS, or Toyota GT86 for our euro friends, was basically destined to wind up as a drift car. With excellent rear-drive handling characteristics and an inherent knack for oversteer, you really can’t go wrong. However, if it isn’t raining, you may find yourself slightly lacking in horsepower. That’s why Network A guys took a 2JZ Scion FRS !
The obvious solution is to turbocharge the stock motor, but years ago Toyota built a legendary straight-six that feels right at home in the FRS’ engine bay: the 2JZ! (bro)
That’s precisely what Formula D drifter Ryan Tuerck did to his insane 600hp 2JZ Scion FRS drift car, and were lucky enough to have amazing footage of it tearing up a mountain pass. Enjoy!
