Like Lamborghini did with the Gallardo, they’ve announced a rear-wheel-drive variant to the Huracan lineup. Debuted today at the Los Angeles Auto Show, this new Italian stallion makes 580hp – 30 less than the Huracan LP610-4, and has been predictably dubbed the Lamborghini Huracan 580-2

Other than the obvious change of two less drive axles connecting the front wheels, the drivetrain remains entirely untouched. The 5.2L V10 sends 580hp straight to the rear tires through a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox. Torque is also down when compared to the LP610-4; the Huracan now makes 398lb-ft verses 413 ft-lbs.

Thanks to the removal of the front running gear, this Huracan also loses 73lbs, giving it a curb weight of 3062lbs. Performance is also slightly down compared to the LP620-4. The Lamborghini Huracan 580-2 hits 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 199mph – 0.2 seconds and 3 mph slower than it’s four-wheel drive cousin.
