Porsche is going “All In” by 2020 with the new Mission E Concept.

Introduced when no one expected at VW Group Night festivities in Frankfurt, the new Porsche Mission E will begin to hunt down Tesla before 2020! A combination of astonishing design and specs, it is said that the Mission E will hit some big numbers.

Just like Tesla, it will be packed with an impressive range of 310 miles, and will be able to go 0 to 62 mph in less than 3.5 seconds. While Tesla’s Ludicrous Mode is able to make it in just 2.8 seconds, the Porsche will not stay behind as the car will be able to charge up to 80% of the way in just 15 minutes, that’s about three times faster than a Tesla Model S! Not only that but also the ability to be charged wirelessly for sure are going to make a difference.

This concept will have a centrally mounted battery along the chassis, and will send the power to front and rear permanently synchronous motors, technology that we have seen in 2015’s Le Mans-winning Porsche 919 hybrid. Revealed with a 2+2 cabin, inside is a typical, stylish Porsche, with technology like eye-tracking and gesture control.

While we expect some of this features to change before the car enters production, it’s safe to say that Porsche is claiming some serious Tesla territory.
