This carbureted LS7 build is put to the test on a dyno.
This LS7 is an awesome piece of old school engineering with a dose of modern electronic wizardry.
It was built in collaboration RF Engines for a series of articles in Circle Track magazine. Making 800 horsepower and 633 lb-ft of torque, this engine uses MSD and DUI ignition components, an RHS LS7 heads and block, Lunati crank and connecting rods, Mahle pistons, and a valve train from Comp Cams.
With top level internals and components, it’s no surprise that this engine is making such power, what does raise questions is the use of a carburetor. We wonder. Is it for nostalgia, budget constraints, or is there a performance advantage?
