Corvette tuning specialist Callaway has built a racecar of your dreams. Based on the C7 Corvette, everything about the GT3-R is stunningly functional. A massive wing, full underbody aero and a front splitter serve to provide maximum downforce while ginormous fender flares cover massive racing tires.
Propulsion is delivered by a race version of Chevrolet’s naturally-aspirated 6.2l LT1 V8 tuned to deliver around 600hp, and it’s all sent through an X-Trac six-speed sequential transmission to the rear wheels. The car meets already GT3 class and FIA regulations and is posed to demolish anything and everything.
Most of the body is composed of carbon fiber, and the cockpit looks straight out of an F1 car. Production is set to begin next year.
Price has yet to be released, but don’t expect the GT3-R to be remotely affordable to anyone outside the ‘Elon Musk’ realm of wealth. Did we mention it has sidepipes?
