Saying that the Ferrari 458 sounds incredible is almost redundant.

There’s been much talk about flat plane crankshafts, but despite the similarities in their crankshaft, the 4.5L Ferrari V8 has nearly nothing in common with its 5.2L American cousin found in the GT350.

Its crankshaft is more than 15lbs lighter than the one found in the GT350, it features individual intake manifolds for each cylinder bank and equal length headers in order to produce that phenomenal Italian soundtrack. The end result is a redline of 9000rpm and an insane specific horsepower per liter. Most of us won’t ever get the opportunity to drive this exotic beast, but the video below will give you a glimpse of what that would be like.
