An Uber has chosen the streets of Toronto to experiment on its latest food delivery service, so have the taxi drivers. Hundreds of taxi drivers have demonstrated even outside the city hall, hoping to shut down UberX.
‘We are not against Uber, we are asking them to follow the law’, one of them said. As another taxi driver sees an Uber driver he went to great lengths by putting his life in danger just to stop him which just shows how desperate somebody can be.
Uber says that it is a tech company and not a taxi one, and therefore is not subject to the same rules. But hundreds of taxis don’t think so, going as far as blocking the freeway for the ambulance.
Many cities have protested against Uber, but the service doesn’t seem to stop anytime soon. Do you agree with the taxi drivers or do you think they have to agree with the latest technology?
