While ancient weaponry isn’t our specialty, there is something to be said about the level of craftsmanship that goes into blacksmithing, and that is something any gearhead can appreciate.
As gearheads we always are interested in finding out how things are made and fabricated, how different tools and manufacturing processes work.
Damascus steel is comprised of various individual sheets, which are stacked, then tack welded. Into the furnace they go, and the the stack is forge welded. The steel is cut and folded many times, and as for the end result, you’ll have to see for yourself.
