Watch 2017 Camaro ZL1 set a crazy record in the Nurburgring.
Chevrolet said they would be back with a faster Camaro when the ZL1 first debuted this year, and it seems like the company kept their promise. The new 650 horsepower ZL1, did a lap in the Nurburgring 11.67 seconds faster than the previous model, by setting a lap of 7:29.60.
The lap was done by Drew Cattell which is also the handling engineer for the ZL1. This model of the ZL1 that you will see in the video below is an automatic model, and Drew left the car in full automatic mode the whole lap, and he didn’t touch the paddles in the steering wheel. Chevy is proud of their 10 speed automatic, and it looks like they’re proud for a reason. The ZL1 is also available in a 6 speed manual. When the 2017 Camaro ZL1 was first spotted, it looked extremely fast, and that’s thanks to Camaro’s advanced chassis and the V8 supercharged engine, that was borrowed from the Corvette ZO6, well not actually borrowed but they share the same engine. The base price for the ZL1 starts at $62.000 and given by its performance, its more than worth it.
