A self driving car-supercomputer sounds like a science fiction concept, but thanks to Nvidia, that may change in the near future.

The company is most recognized for their highly capable graphics cards and related hardware, but recently they have been developing a self driving car supercomputer, complete with its own traffic navigating engine.

Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang announced this technology at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show.

But the hardware, which is said to be equivalent to 150 Macbook Pros, is not even the most impressive part of this thrilling new technology.

The software behind this relies on something called “Deep Learning”, which is, put in an oversimplified way, a program that writes its own expansions, teaching itself.
