The stationary 2 stroke diesel Fairbanks Morse Model 32D is a sight to behold.
Located in Pottsville Oregon, this diesel power plant once provided motion for a gigantic water pump; today it remains awe inspiring, a ground shaking local spectacle.
Interestingly, this diesel engine seems to idle with only a single cylinder firing, keeping it at idle rpm, when the fuel regulator is opened a bit more, it comes into life, with a roaring exhaust note that makes the earth beneath it wobble .
A relic from 1936,this stationary 2 stroke diesel still draws a crowd around itself, especially when it’s fired up.
