Recently, the folks at General Motors had registered the “Corvette E-Ray” trademark; on November 26th they also filed a patent for an electric mid engine drivetrain.
Does this mean the iconic Vette will join the Electric Vehicle class?
The situation here is unclear, but we doubt the C7 generation will have an electric variant.
However, the thought of an electrical version of the Corvette would go against everything it symbolizes from American car culture, as some people regard the Corvette as the last bastion of the OHV V8.
We can only wait for more information on this matter to surface, for the moment, the Corvette remains untainted.
